Lynne Kessler Lechter is a founding partner of Lechter & Sasso, P.C., located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the managing partner of Bridgeport, Pennsylvania satellite office.

Ms. Lechter has extensive and diverse law firm and business experience. As a former law firm partner, she handled a complex motions and litigation practice, while also developing a niche in small business consulting and international legal services. Ms. Lechter also engaged in high level complex commercial litigation. Her testimony before a Pennsylvania State Legislative Hearing on Karate School fraud implemented critical changes to Pennsylvania’s Health Club Act. These changes resulted in Karate Schools being added to the Act’s covered class of service providers. Subsequently, Ms. Lechter became the General Counsel of an international sales and marketing company where she handled all aspects of business law from short and long term leases, landlord tenant issues, construction, customs, employee and computer systems contracts, to negotiating multinational joint ventures and intellectual property agreements.

Ms. Lechter is an acknowledged leader in complex multinational negotiations and international transactions, including international licenses and advertising agreements for the manufacture, distribution and sale of consumer products, brand extensions and marketing. Ms. Lechter is adept at analyzing foreign commercial codes relative to how they affect the United States party to the transnational agreement. She has also handled high profile commercial litigation, claims, and arbitration, and has a diverse and extensive background in all areas of corporate and business issues. Additionally, she has transacted high-level negotiations in Israel, Thailand, France, Italy, Central and South America, as well as in the major cities of the United States. Ms. Lechter has negotiated with large corporations, such as Munsingwear, Sara Lee, Vanity Fair, Martha Stewart, J.C. Penney, and Walgreens.

Moreover, Ms. Lechter is a noted teaching professional. She has served as an Adjunct Professor for the Villanova University School of Law at its Legal Services Clinic. There, Ms. Lechter taught third year law students how to handle domestic and elder abuse cases from original intake through to prosecution at the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas. Furthermore, Ms. Lechter has given numerous seminars before legal, business and scholastic audiences, including presentations for continuing legal education credits for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute (“PBI), the Philadelphia Bar Institute and the Montgomery Bar Association, at Villanova University, Gratz College and at numerous law firms and locations in the Philadelphia and suburban Pennsylvania areas.

Ms. Lechter has served as the Founding Editor of the Monthly News Bulletin, “Bogota Today”, an English-language publication produced by the American Society of Bogota, in Bogota, Colombia, SA, and on the Editorial Board of “Speakeasy”, a monthly Information Science journal published in Chicago, Illinois. She has also written extensively for legal professional publications including the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyer’s Association’s The Barrister and the inaugural edition of the Albany Law School’s Journal of Science and Technology.  Additionally, she has written on a vast body of commercial and international law topics that have been produced and distributed in Continuing Legal Education course books.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Lechter was President of a marketing and sales consumer product company that distributed products to companies such as Walgreens, Johnson & Johnson, Fleer Bubble Gum, and the United States Marines. She also served as a Manager in Westinghouse’s Computerized Litigation Services Department where she managed a staff of over 300 employees and was responsible for data input and the production of computerized litigation tools for multi-district litigations.

With the firm’s managing partner, Ernest Sasso, Ms. Lechter co-founded and co-chaired the Montgomery Bar Association’s International Law Committee.  There, the partners organized meetings and created a number of International Law-related continuing legal education courses (CLE’s) and co-authored numerous publications about that area of law.

Ms. Lechter has been the recipient of numerous awards, including a writing award from The Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association and induction into the Desmond Mctighe (Chapter) of the American Inns of Court.  The American Inns of Court is an organization comprised of Judges and attorneys dedicated to furthering the highest ethical and legal standards in the practice of law.

Ms. Lechter is licensed to practice before all of the State and Federal Courts in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and the District of Columbia including the Supreme Court of the United States.

Ms. Lechter is committed to public service as much as she is to the well-being of her clients.  She has enjoyed a life-long involvement and leadership role in civic, cultural, educational and political organizations.  In 2008, Ms. Lechter was the Republican Candidate for Pennsylvania’s 149th Legislative District.
